SAFEGUARDING POLICY

Last Reviewed 18th June 2026

I believe every child and young person has the right to be safe, respected, heard, and valued.

I am committed to creating environments where children and young people can participate confidently and safely in all retreats, workshops, programs, events, and activities. The wellbeing and best interests of children are at the heart of everything I do.

I have zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect, exploitation, grooming, bullying, discrimination, or any other behaviour that places a child or young person at risk of harm.

My commitment to safeguarding is informed by the Australian Catholic Safeguarding Standards, the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, and relevant Australian child protection legislation.

To support a child-safe culture, I commit to:

  • Promoting the safety, wellbeing, dignity, and rights of every child and young person.

  • Listening to children and taking their views, concerns, and experiences seriously.

  • Creating environments that are inclusive, welcoming, and respectful of diversity.

  • Upholding the highest standards of professional and personal conduct.

  • Ensuring that I maintain the appropriate working with children screening and regularly access resources and training regarding safeguarding.

  • Maintaining clear boundaries in all interactions with children and young people.

  • Taking all concerns, complaints, disclosures, and allegations seriously and responding appropriately.

  • Complying with mandatory reporting obligations and all relevant safeguarding requirements.

  • Continually reviewing and strengthening safeguarding practices.

If a child or young person is in immediate danger, contact 000.
